The report evaluates the functionality, socio-economic impact, and user satisfaction of Improved Water Mills (IWMs) in Nepal, based on a survey of 93 mills in both accessible and remote hill regions. It highlights the extensive use of IWMs for agro-processing, particularly the short shaft type, while identifying operational challenges such as maintenance issues and water shortages, and recommending enhanced training and service accessibility to improve sustainability and user satisfaction.
